Day 9 - Tuesday, August 2 - Karlstad - Stockholm

Holmlund Family Tour departs by SWEBUSS scheduled express bus service to Stockholm. Alf Brorson will drop you off at the bus station at appropriate time. You will see the scenery in between Karlstad and Stockholm. Cost of the bus is around $ 30.00.

Arrive around noon at Stockholm Central Train and Bus Terminal in downtown. After arrival at the bus station transfer to your hotel by either taxi or subway. Check-in to the hotel (Comfort Hotel Tapto ?).

Afternoon free to explore Stockholm. First pay a visit to the Sverigehuset (information center) and decide if you would like to book a tour or explore on your own after picking up information.Would suggest that you visit Skansen the open-air museum which is called "Sweden in a Nutshell" and eat at one its many restaurants. Dinner on your own.

Overnight at hotel (Comfort Hotel Tapto ?).

Day 10 - Wednesday, August 3 - Stockholm - Arlanda Airport - Umeå - Nordmaling - After breakfast at your hotel you pack up and transfer by taxi to Arlanda Airport for a flight to Umeå. Arrive in Umeå by noon and pick up your van and station wagon. Then drive to Nordmaling. This is approximately a 40 minute drive from Umeå. Tour around and then check into the hotel (TemaGården Hotel).

Day 11 - Thursday, August 4 - Nordmaling and Environs - After breakfast spend another day in and around Nordmaling. Lunch and dinner on your own today.

Day 12 -  Friday,  August 5 - Nordmaling and Environs - After breakfast spend another day in and around Nordmaling. Lunch and dinner on your own today.

Day 13 - Saturday, August 6 - Nordmaling - Bredsel - After breakfast spend the day in and around Nordmaling. Lunch on your own. Drive to Bredsel for overnight there. Overnight at hotel (Hotel Storforsen ?). See Europe’s largest free waterfall with a drop of 267 feet.

Day 14 - Sunday, August 7 - Bredsel - Jokkmokk - Kiruna

Depart hotel at Bredsel for your Arctic Adventure.

This morning after breakfast you continue on and pass over the Arctic Circle where you will receive the "Arctic Circle Certificate". In Jokkmokk you will visit the Ajtte Museum, a Swedish mountain and Sami(Lapp) museum. You will also visit "Jokkmokks Tenn" where we will watch the manufacture of different pewter objects of Sami origination, as well as be able to buy factory direct in the factory's outlet shop. You depart Jokkmokk and continue on through Gällivare/Malmberget and to Kiruna for dinner and overnight. After dinner in the late evening you will drive up to the top of Kirunavaara Mountain to experience "The Midnight Sun" phenomenon.

Day 15 - Monday, August 8 - Kiruna - Jukkasjärvi - Kiruna Airport - Arlanda Airport(Stockholm) - After breakfast in Kiruna you will take a look at the LKAB Mine and pay a visit to the Sami Handwork Cooperative in Jukkasjärvi as well as see the location of the internationally renowned "Ice Hotel". You will see the special old Sami Church which has the unique altar painting painted by artist Bror Hjort. At the Sami Village we will see their homes and reindeer. Return to Kiruna to turn in your rental van/and or cars and for your flight back to Arlanda Airport. Lunch and dinner on your own today. Upon arrival at Arlanda Airport about mid afternoon you may take the hotel shuttle to the hotel. Overnight at Quality Eurostop Hotel.

Day 16 - Tuesday, August 9 - (B) - Arlanda Airport - Departure for USA - After breakfast transfer by shuttle to International Departures Terminal for flight back to USA via Chicago.
